I am 15 and planning on going to vet school but i need a place to start out and see if i like it PS: what kind of wages should i be expecting if any?

You start off by applying for positions as a veterinary assistant at clinics near your home. Put together a letter about your intent to go to vet school, your experience with animals--types of pets you have had and your part in caring for them, your need for experience in a veterinary facility to help you to determine if this is really the profession you want to work towards, etc. Send this letter to local clinics along with a resume showing any and all work experience that you have. And don't forget to talk to your own veterinarian about possibly shadowing him or volunteering at his practice for a while. Consider taking the veterinary assisting program through Cedar Valley College as well. This will help you get some basic information on assisting a veterinarian so that your employer doesn't have to spend so much time training you.
